What is High Pressure Laminate?

High Pressure Laminate, or HPL, is a thermosetting resin panel.
International Committee of the Decorative Laminates Industry (ICDLI) defines it as "HPL is a resin and paper-based thermosetting composite material."
High pressure laminate is a material made of resin and paper, produced under high pressure and high temperature.

 

The core is made of multiple layers of kraft paper, with decorative paper layered on top.

Both the kraft and decorative papers are first impregnated with resin and dried.
The layers are then stacked and hot-pressed between steel plates, resulting in a finished high pressure laminate (HPL).

 

From residential to commercial spaces, High Pressure Laminate (HPL) is a versatile surface material that meets high standards for durability, aesthetics, and safety.
HPL can be applied on vertical and horizontal surfaces, including shelving, cabinets, display units, tables, walls, and ceilings.

• TV feature wall, display wall: The deep texture and matt finish give the facade more layers. 

• Door panels and cabinet surfaces: Scratch-resistant, wear-resistant, easy to clean. 

• System cabinets and storage cabinets: Standardized sizes are easy to process, with a wide variety of patterns to choose from.

Sunflower Nano Anti-Fungal & Anti-Bacterial Panels

Core Technology – Nano-Scale, Long Lasting Protection

Sunflower products feature deep-layer, non-surface coating anti-bacterial technology. During the pre-press paper impregnation stage (see note 1), zinc ion-based anti-fungal and anti-bacterial agents are evenly incorporated into the paper.

How Zinc Ions Work:

• Disrupt microbial metabolism
• Prevent bacteria and fungi from attaching, growing, or reproducing
• Reduce the risk of cross-contamination
• Remain effective over long-term use and frequent cleaning (not just a surface coating)

This deep-layer structure ensures that all six brands offer durable, safe, and reliable hygiene performance, suitable for high-standard medical, educational, and public spaces.

High-Pressure Laminate (HPL) Cleaning & Care Guide

High-Pressure Laminate (HPL) is a thermoset composite made of resin and paper, known for its strength, durability, and fine surface texture. It is highly resistant, easy to clean, and long-lasting. Proper cleaning and care can help maintain its appearance and extend its lifespan.

Cleaning Instructions:

1. For daily cleaning, simply wipe the surface with water and dry it with a soft cloth or paper towel (e.g., microfiber cloth).

2. For stubborn dirt or stains, use a mild, non-abrasive household cleaner with a neutral pH (7–8), such as dishwashing liquid. Rinse thoroughly with water and dry with a soft cloth.

Important:

• Avoid using harsh or corrosive chemicals such as turpentine, paint thinner, or other strong solvents, as they may damage the surface.

Usage Tips:

• Do not cut, hit, or scrape the surface with metal or hard objects.

• Avoid placing extremely hot objects directly on the surface. Use heat-resistant mats or trivets to protect the laminate.

Following these simple steps will help keep your HPL panels looking great and ensure long-lasting performance.

HPL is a decorative surface material. During installation, it is recommended to bond a substrate to the back of the panel to prevent warping in composite assemblies. Common substrates include plywood, particleboard, fiberboard, plastic composite panels, and honeycomb panels.

Typical adhesives used for bonding include urea-formaldehyde resin, phenolic resin, epoxy resin, PVA-based adhesives, and strong construction glues.

Sunflower HPL has passed the Class 1 fire resistance test. These panels exhibit no flashover and no sustained flame spread, and also feature anti-fungal and anti-bacterial performance, while maintaining all the functional advantages of High-Pressure Laminate (HPL).
