What is High Pressure Laminate?

High Pressure Laminate, or HPL, is a thermosetting resin panel.
International Committee of the Decorative Laminates Industry (ICDLI) defines it as "HPL is a resin and paper-based thermosetting composite material."
High pressure laminate is a material made of resin and paper, produced under high pressure and high temperature.

 

The core is made of multiple layers of kraft paper, with decorative paper layered on top.

Both the kraft and decorative papers are first impregnated with resin and dried.
The layers are then stacked and hot-pressed between steel plates, resulting in a finished high pressure laminate (HPL).

 

What is Melamine Faced Chipboard?

Melamine faced chipboard is a highly stable composite material made with partible boards as substrates, with decorative paper on both sides.

Its main feature is precise dimensions, high durability, a complete range of color availability, and suitability for system cabinet processing.

It is widely used for cabinets in spaces such as residential, commercial, schools, and medical facilities.

What is Quartz Surface?

Quartz surfaces are made of mostly natural quartz with a small amount of colorant and resin for binding.

They are an exceptionally durable composite material made by vacuum high pressure molding.

In modern high-end interior design especially in kitchens, countertops, and islands, quartz surfaces are favored for its Scratch-resistant, stain-resistant, heat-resistant, and has a texture similar to natural marble. which are widely used due to its characteristics.

What is Solid Surface?

Solid surfaces are a acrylic-base and polyester resina made material, mixed with natural mineral ingredients and colorants to create a non-porous high function stone material.

Hanex Solid Surface features non-porous, seamless jointing, and thermally bendable.

The surface hardness reaches Rockwell HRM 89, providing excellent scratch resistance and wear resistance, suitable for high-frequency use in kitchens, commercial spaces, and medical environments.

High-Pressure Laminate (HPL) Cleaning & Care Guide

High-Pressure Laminate (HPL) is a thermoset composite made of resin and paper, known for its strength, durability, and fine surface texture. It is highly resistant, easy to clean, and long-lasting. Proper cleaning and care can help maintain its appearance and extend its lifespan.

Cleaning Instructions:

1. For daily cleaning, simply wipe the surface with water and dry it with a soft cloth or paper towel (e.g., microfiber cloth).

2. For stubborn dirt or stains, use a mild, non-abrasive household cleaner with a neutral pH (7–8), such as dishwashing liquid. Rinse thoroughly with water and dry with a soft cloth.

Important:

• Avoid using harsh or corrosive chemicals such as turpentine, paint thinner, or other strong solvents, as they may damage the surface.

Usage Tips:

• Do not cut, hit, or scrape the surface with metal or hard objects.

• Avoid placing extremely hot objects directly on the surface. Use heat-resistant mats or trivets to protect the laminate.

Following these simple steps will help keep your HPL panels looking great and ensure long-lasting performance.

HPL is a decorative surface material. During installation, it is recommended to bond a substrate to the back of the panel to prevent warping in composite assemblies. Common substrates include plywood, particleboard, fiberboard, plastic composite panels, and honeycomb panels.

Typical adhesives used for bonding include urea-formaldehyde resin, phenolic resin, epoxy resin, PVA-based adhesives, and strong construction glues.
